Childbirth With Insight
Published in Hardcover by Horizon Book Promotions (November, 1989)
Author: Elizabeth Noble
Average review score:

A must-read for pregnant women
I liked this book so much I read it twice during my last pregnancy. The author discusses childbirth education-its problems and potential, the natural flow of labor and birth, and in general ways to prepare for a natural childbirth. One part I found especially helpful was the topic of breathing, and how it is detrimental to try and control your breathing and hold your breath during childbirth. This book really "psyched me up" and I was able to give birth naturally.

Children of destiny
Published in Unknown Binding by M. Joseph ()
Author: Elizabeth Chadwick
Average review score:

Love Medieval Style
Elizabeth Chadwick is the premier medieval author! Her characters come to life, and you walk every step with them.

In Children of Destiny, she tells the tale of the Cathars in medieval France. It starts out in 1207, when Raoul de Montvalland and Claire d'Agen are married. For Raoul it is the fulfillment of his lifelong dream, but for Claire, there is conflict between marital happiness and her yearning to embrace fully the Cathar Faith.

In 1209 a crusade is launched by the Pope against the heretic Cathars and Simon de Monfort sets about devastating Cathar strongholds in the South. Raoul, Claire and Bridget, a Cathar woman, whom Raoul is strangely attracted to, are pulled apart by the conflict, which will affect future generations.

A great story, rich in historical detail, you can't put it down!

Children of the Paper Crane: The Story of Sadako Sasaki and Her Struggle With the A-Bomb Disease
Published in Paperback by M.E.Sharpe (December, 1996)
Authors: Masamoto Nasu, Elizabeth W. Baldwin, Steven L. Leeper, and Kyoko Yoshida
Average review score:

Cranes For World Peace
I recommend this book to teachers, librarians and students everywhere. I first read about Sadako Sasaki in the fabulous book "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes" by Eleanor Coerr. I am a children and teen librarian and was moved by this young girl's courage and wish for world peace. I wanted to share this story with my "Teen Coffeehouse" group which meets on a regular basis. They too were touched by Sadako's story. We have gotten involved with the folding of 1,000 origami paper cranes and will be sending them to an elementary teacher in Hiroshima. He will be placing our 1,000 cranes under the Sadako Statue in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park on August 6, 2000.

The book, "Children of the Paper Crane" by Masamoto Nasu has given us an in depth description on how this statue had come to be the worldwide known place where children from all over the world can visually show their want for peace all over the world.

It is a wonderful heartwarming book!

The Children's Book of Poems, Prayers and Meditations
Published in Hardcover by Harper Collins - UK (October, 1998)
Authors: Elizabeth Attenborough and Liz Attenborough
Average review score:

Inspiring for children and adults
This book is one of the most wonderful books I have read in awhile and I read quite a bit. I loved it so much after reading that I had to buy a couple extra copies to give to the children I love. It is something that I recommend parents to share with their children as soon as they can. The poems and prayers and other things in this book are beautiful, heartfelt, and a true blessing to read.

The Chlamydomonas Sourcebook: A Comprehensive Guide to Biology and Laboratory Use
Published in Hardcover by Academic Press (June, 1989)
Author: Elizabeth H. Harris
Average review score:

The Bible of Green Yeast
This book is THE reference on Chlamydomonas, the single celled alga sometimes called "green yeast". The sourcebook contains detailed protocols for working with this organism, as well as comprehensive information about its cell biology, metabolism, etc. The only drawback is that this book is somewhat old, and was written before many of the molecular tools for working with Chlamydomonas were perfected, such as transformation or positional cloning using BAC libraries. Still, anyone interested in Chlamydomonas MUST get this book.

Choosing a Nurse-Midwife: Your Guide to Safe, Sensitive Care During Pregnancy and the Birth of Your Child
Published in Paperback by John Wiley & Sons (30 March, 1994)
Authors: Catherine M. Poole, Elizabetha. Parr, and Elizabeth A. Parr
Average review score:

Great Choice but remember the men too
I am a nurse midwife and I believe the women in midwifery need to stop the nonsence of this female dominated profession. We should all be professional and allow gender not to be an issue. Men and women can be doctor, why not midwives. Well the book is great but step out of the women only seen.

Christianity, Patriarchy and Abuse: A Feminist Critique
Published in Paperback by Pilgrim Pr (November, 1989)
Authors: Carole R. Bohn, Joanne C. Brown, and Elizabeth Bettenhausen
Average review score:

challenging to the core.
This volume mounts a sustained and impassioned critique of Christian symbols that legitimate the vicitimization of women. Though the essays are all written by Christian theologians, they do not flinch from examining any aspect of Christian doctrine, nor from posing the question of whether Christianity is still an ethically viable religion. A particular strength of the book is that the authors do not all come down in the same place on the question of suffering, allowing an appropriate sense of complexity to bear on a particularly difficult issue.

Christmas Spirits
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Jove Pubns (November, 1997)
Authors: Lynn Kurland, Casey Claybourne, Elizabeth Bevarly, and Jenny Lykins
Average review score:

Wonderful stories
This book is very hard to find, but it is worth all the trouble to get hold of a copy. If you are a Lynn Kurland fan, which I am the first story in the book is about members of the De Piaget and Mc Cloud clan. She has writen several books on these families and she finally joins the two families together in the present day. The other 3 books are in the anthology are wonderful. Do read this book if you can get it. It is worth it.

Christmas With Alice Ems
Published in Paperback by Puddingstone Publishing (September, 2000)
Author: Elizabeth Elder
Average review score:

A lively and fun collection of poetry for kids!
Christmas With Alice-Ems: Mathematically Possible Poems is a lively and fun collection of Elizabeth Elder's poetry for kids and would grace any family, school, or community library collection. Considering Louis: Considering Louis, it isn't enough/to think of his stuffing as nothing but fluff./A rabbit like Louis is more than he seems./A rabbit like Louis has wonders and dreams./The wonders are wound in the pink of his toes/and the pucker of whiskers and tuck of his nose./The wonders are mysteries he may wish to keep,/or secrets he only relates in his sleep./A rabbit like Louis is clearly more/than a fuzziness left in a heap on the floor./With Louis there's fluff and there's something else too./I cannot begin to describe it. Can you?
